I’m Mark Lange, the founder and President of Prudent Financial LLC.
My journey to build Prudent started when my dad was given the opportunity to retire and take his pension or a buy out from his company with some additional options. My dad like many people had expected to work till he was 65, but that didn’t happen. My dad was given his option to take his earlier than expected when he was 60. This brought a whole new set of things into the retirement picture that were never factors before. We sat down and examined all of the different options, and as we did, my dad said he was glad he had a son who knew how to evaluate all these different options and the risks associated with the choices. We developed a game plan that would provide the best options for what he and mom wanted. It meant he had to make some hard decisions, but it also meant he had to do a lot of analysis to evaluate the options to come up with the best course to take. After I finished up the analysis for mom and dad, I realized that the landscape of retirement planning was changing forever. We were leaving the golden age of pensions, and now entering the age of the 401K. The simple retirements of your parents and grandparents for the most part are over. Now you will have to take control of many decisions you hadn’t thought about or expected.
Prudent was founded in 2014 to give clients the ability to work with an independent planning group that focused on our clients. In 2017 Brian Cody joined Prudent as a partner. Brian’s background as a former teacher of the retirement and estate planning segments of the Certified Financial Planner curriculum for 8 years was the type of advisor Prudent is based on. Our desire to develop a rigorous standard of fiduciary excellence is what drives us. We are always looking for ways to improve what we do for our clients.
As a result of our joining forces, Prudent Financial has developed the “Prudent Review Process”. By utilizing our rigorous process to update and evaluate our clients situations through the year, we are more responsive to changes that affect you both now and in the future. With over 45 years of personal advisory experience, each has a unique area of expertise. Mark specializes in working with college executives, retirement plans on the for-profit side, and retirement distribution strategies for transitioning retirees. Brian specializes in working with successful small businesses and non-profit retirement plans, as well as retirement distribution planning. Prudent Financial LLC has two offices. One in Cedar Knolls, NJ and the main office in Tuxedo Park, NY
The financial arena presents many different challenges for people. Some find it easy to navigate, but most do not. Our objective for our clients is to help them navigate the ongoing changes that impact them everyday. If your not sure if your doing the right things with your retirement, give us a call and let’s find out.
WHO WE WORK WITH
When people ask us who and what we are, we often reflect back on why we decided on this career. Simply, it was the desire to help others navigate the perplexing areas of finance in their lives. Through the years, we realized we had some groups of people we were natural fits with. The unique aspects attached to their situations allowed us to become well versed in the challenges they faced.
We thought it would be helpful to give you an idea of the people who we enjoy applying our areas of expertise with.
